Thurston County Food Bank

The Food Bank has shifted services to a pre-bagged food model. The priority is to get food into the hands of those who need it as quickly and safely as possible. A client can receive a bag of shelf-stable food, fresh produce, bread and pastries, and frozen meat.

Thurston County COVID-19 Community Response Fund

Community Foundation of South Puget Sound and United Way of Thurston County (UWTC) have partnered to establish the Thurston County COVID-19 Response Fund.

The Thurston County COVID-19 Response Fund will provide funds to assist the most disproportionately impacted individuals and families, as well as to a number of groups, including the Food Bank and Interfaith Works. You may want to make their donations to a single site that benefits many groups and individuals, rather than having to spread your donations out over multiple groups.

The Thurston County COVID-19 Community Response Fund is now accepting requests from Thurston County residents who are being severely affected by the economic impacts of the COVID-19 virus.

The fund is available to provide assistance with rent, utilities, child care, and other basic needs. Our partner, the Community Action Council (CAC) of Lewis, Mason & Thurston Counties, is accepting phone calls and coordinating resources for people who need this emergency assistance. If you are a resident of Thurston County and need help, please call the CAC Monday – Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at (360) 438-1100 or 1-(800) 878-5235.

SPSCC Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Fund

South Puget Sound Community College continues to serve its vital role in our community. Staff and faculty at SPSCC have managed to creatively continue to serve students by offering classes online or virtually, including the vocational and technical courses. Student enrollment has actually increased for Spring Quarter! Student requests for emergency grants have also increased, in fact, requests for support have doubled! Donate to the SPSCC Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Fund is helping students navigate on-line spring quarter including Running Start, seniors who are attempting to graduate, helping those who have been laid off start retraining courses, and more.

OUUC Minister’s Benevolence Fund

The Minister has a benevolence fund to help congregants and members of the community with unexpected expenses.  This fund has been used to help with things such as basic needs like food and shelter, retraining and schooling, and transportation costs.  Rev. Mary accepts requests for help from congregants directly at minister@ouuc.org.   She accepts requests from the community through the Family Support Center and Safe Place.
