Hello All,

I hope that you all are safe and healthy. The changes that we have seen in this COVID-19 crisis are teaching us all new skills and ways of managing. The OUUC Board of Trustees has been learning the art of Zoom over the past month and moving the business of our congregation forward. A big Thank You goes out to Rev. Mary and the staff for all their support and diligence. We also thank the many members of the congregation who have picked up the work of the church and pushed it forward through these challenging times.

I am writing to announce the Annual Congregational Meeting. The meeting will be held on Zoom at 11:45 am on Sunday, April 26. The meeting is required by our by-laws to occur before the 1^st of May each year. This our time for electing new members to the Board of Trustees and the Leadership Development Committee. The agenda attached to this mailing gives specifics of the candidates for these positions and lists other topics to be addressed at the meeting. Over the next two weeks, we will be sending additional communications to share information about the candidates.

We will also be asking for a vote to approve the acceptance of funds offered through the Payroll Protection Plan. These funds are available to assist employers who have sustained a loss of revenue due to the pandemic. The amount that we are requesting from this source is approximately 14% of our annual budget and our bylaws require that the Congregation approve a funding change of this amount.

More information on the specifics of the meeting and a link for the Zoom session will be sent to you in the week before the meeting. For those not on Zoom, please contact Darlene Sarkela, Church Administrator, to get an absentee ballot and information on how to submit it for the vote. To the rest of us, we will be voting in the Zoom meeting through the simple process of, physically, raising our hands. We request that only current members of the Congregation be given the link to the meeting and several members at a location will be able to vote at once.

Stay tuned for more information on this important gathering. We need a quorum of the Congregation (61 members) in order to successfully vote on the items on the agenda.
