Rest, and a few other things….
Rest
Zoom fatigue is a thing. So is pandemic brain. There is a lot to take in these days as we adapt to the news and a new world each day. I hope that you are taking extra care of yourselves now.
I am going to do that this week by stepping away from being online as much. I plan to not Zoom very much and focus on some other priorities. So, don’t worry if you don’t see me for a bit. I’ll be back online after a break.
Generosity
Many people have received stimulus checks and request for where to donate the funds. For many of us, the funds are much needed to help with expenses right now. Others of us are in a position to be able to donate to organizations we care about.
The Faith in Action Leadership Team put together a list of organizations that will put donations to good use in the community, which you can find elsewhere in the update. I hope that you will also consider donating to OUUC. It is our staff that help hold the container in which we fulfill our mission in the community, and staff are a large part of the OUUC budget. Your support is always appreciated and especially so now. You can donate online here or mail a check to OUUC at 2315 Division St. NW, Olympia, WA 98502.
Gratitude
The Sewing Ministry is making masks. The Tech Team is hard at work. The AV Team (mostly Riley) is continuing to post the services on the website. The Auction Team is planning. So many of you have pivoted with us as we adapted to the new ministry needed in these times. Our mission is the same, we are just doing it a little bit differently. Our shared ministry remains strong. Thank you!
Happy Earth Day!
This week’s Mid-week Meditation is the lovely story told by Sara Lewis last Sunday. We indeed have much to learn from the natural world, including our animal cousins. I hope you will mark Earth Day in a way that is meaningful for you.
Blessings on your week,
Rev. Mary
